Why We Exist

Civil society has a great deal to say. It rarely has the time to say it.

Organisations working for the public good in Türkiye do large things with small resources. A three person team runs field work, writes reports and prepares grant applications. By the time communications comes up there is neither time nor energy left. Yet work that goes unheard is work half wasted.

Civic Space Media has stood in exactly that gap for over a decade. We specialise in digital communications for not for profit organisations. Associations, foundations, research centres and funders make up almost all of our portfolio. That is not a preference but a position: we know the language, the rhythm and the constraints of this field.

Not an agency, a companion

A standard agency delivers and withdraws. We take on the organisation's mission and work like part of the in house team, taking initiative wherever visibility can be improved, whether or not it is in the brief. Some of our partnerships have run without a break for more than five years.

We choose where our energy goes

We do not serve fossil fuel based sectors. That means we do not take every job that knocks, and we intend to keep it that way.

We run our own channels

sivilalan.com, civicspacejobs.com and iklimsalatasi.org belong to us. Organisations we work with get more than a service: they get direct access to a ready ecosystem. An announcement, a job post, a publication reaches the right audience in the right place.
