What "not for profit" means here

Civic Space Media is set up as a limited company, because in Türkiye there was no other practical way to invoice civil society continuously. The company exists to sustain the work, not to distribute profit.

Almost all of our income comes from communications work we do for organisations. We do not raise grants or donations. Whatever exceeds our costs goes to four places: the server, development and content costs of our three free platforms; work done free of charge or at cost for small organisations that cannot afford it; the team's salaries, training and equipment; and a reserve to cover the months when income is uneven.

sivilalan.com, civicspacejobs.com and iklimsalatasi.org charge users nothing, carry no advertising, and are funded by our own service income rather than by any external grant. They are the public side of the work, paid for by the commercial side.
