Helping Climate Network Türkiye be heard

Since February 2025 we have run the website of Climate Network Türkiye, a coalition of 17 civil society organisations working on climate. Between July and September 2026 we also managed its LinkedIn communications.

We have been working with Climate Network Türkiye (İklim Ağı) since February 2025. We built the network's website in Turkish and English, and we continue to manage its domain, hosting and content. For three months, between July and September 2026, we also ran content and advertising on its LinkedIn page.

Who is Climate Network Türkiye?

Climate Network Türkiye brings together expert civil society organisations working on climate in Türkiye. It was announced at a launch meeting in Istanbul on 9 January 2025 with 15 founding organisations and now has 17 members.

Grounded in climate justice, the network aims to contribute to science-based national climate targets and policies in line with limiting global warming to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels. Its work covers national climate policy and legislation, the transformation of emissions-intensive sectors (energy above all), international negotiations and climate diplomacy, just transition, and adaptation and resilience.

Its members are: Buğday Association for Supporting Ecological Living, Climate Action Network (CAN) Europe, ClientEarth, Nature Association (Doğa Derneği), Greenpeace Türkiye, Law, Nature and Society Foundation (HUDOTO), Climate Change Policy and Research Association (İDPAD), 350.org Türkiye, Foundation for the Support of Women's Work, Spatial Justice Association (MAD), Sustainable Economy and Finance Research Association (SEFiA), Right to Clean Air Association (THHD), Regenerative Economy Association, TEMA Foundation, WWF-Türkiye, Green Thought Association (YDD) and Beyond Fossil Fuels (BFF).

The network spells out its principles: it endorses no ideology, party or belief; it bases its positions on science; and it does not partner with private companies in fossil fuels, metal mining that uses heap leaching, nuclear or defence. New members are nominated by at least two existing members, reviewed by the Ethics Committee and admitted by a two-thirds vote at the network's monthly General Assembly.

Why this partnership matters

Climate policy is a technical field, and the impact of a statement depends on publishing it at the right moment, in the right words and in two languages at once. With Türkiye holding the COP31 Presidency, it matters more than ever that the joint voice of 17 organisations reaches the public, decision-makers and the international climate community at the same time.

It is also familiar ground for us: two of the network's members, SEFiA and CAN Europe, are long-standing partners of ours.

What we have done together

Website. iklimagi.org was built in Turkish and English by Araf Şan from our team. The site sets out the network's aims and areas of work, its principles, its membership process and member list, its statements and news, and a contact page. Through the contact page, organisations following the COP31 process can ask to join the Climate Network Türkiye COP31 Observation and Engagement Group.

Domain, hosting and content management. We manage the site's domain and hosting and publish the network's statements and news in both languages. Kenan Dursun leads this part. Once the network agrees on a statement, having it live in both languages on the same day is the heart of the job.

LinkedIn. Between July and September 2026 we ran content production, the publishing schedule and advertising on Climate Network Türkiye's LinkedIn page. In the run-up to COP31 we focused on bringing the network's statements, such as "Türkiye's New Coal Investments are at Odds with COP31 Presidency" (September 2026), to the policy and expert audience on LinkedIn.
